An off-site meeting of the Expert Advisory Council under the Presidium of the Council of the Republic, chaired by the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic, Natalya Kochanova, is being held in Rossony. The agenda includes the issue: "Enhancing Tourism Potential: New Trends and Growth Points."
Before the meeting, its participants inspected an exhibition showcasing landmark sites of the Rossony, Ushachy, and Verkhnedvinsk districts. Vitebsk region, a land of blue lakes and green forests, is a real Klondike for the tourism business and a pearl for nature lovers. The history of the northern region and its architectural attractions also attract guests.
The meeting participants took a keen interest in the services offered to guests by the modern tourist eco-village "Yakovskoye." As its director, Oksana Korolyova, explained, vacationers are fully immersed in village life, surrounded by comfort. All products are ecologically clean: homemade eggs, cheeses, and vegetables. And in the near future, truffles will also appear in the diet. "Yakovskoye" in Rossony is attempting to cultivate these rare underground delicacy mushrooms.
"Realization of tourism potential" was officially approved as one of the 7 key priorities of the Program for Socio-Economic Development of the Republic of Belarus for 2026–2030 at the VII All-Belarusian People's Assembly. As Natalya Kochanova noted, it is necessary to maximize the tourism potential in the regions and generate income from it.
– We are holding a meeting in a small settlement, but one with great tourism potential. The Head of State has set a serious task – to increase its contribution to the economy by at least two times. For this purpose, the National Tourism Agency operates in our country. Today, we will consider problematic issues, listen to proposals, and identify growth points, – Natalia Kochanova addressed the attendees.
