A unified information space is being formed in the healthcare sector of the Vitebsk region

In 2018, 48.2 million rubles were allocated to the healthcare sector of the Vitebsk region for construction, reconstruction, modernization, and repair, with 20 facilities commissioned. A significant event in 2019 will be the completion of the polyclinic project in the Yug-7 microdistrict of Vitebsk. This was announced by the head of the main department for healthcare of the regional executive committee, Yuri Derkach, at an open meeting of the regional executive committee.

Analyzing the work of the medical service of the Vitebsk region in implementing the measures of the State Program "People's Health and Demographic Security of the Republic of Belarus," Yuri Derkach emphasized that all control indicators are currently at the level envisaged for 2020. However, this is not a reason to rest on our laurels, but rather motivation for further improvement and careful control over the organization of work.

Healthcare institutions in the northern region achieve a positive economic effect by improving the quality of medical care. Prevention and early diagnosis of diseases allow for a reduction in the duration of treatment and hospitalization, and a decrease in the number of medications used.

The freed-up financial resources are directed to other needs, including strengthening the material and technical base of healthcare institutions.

Among the facilities are the Semashko City Hospital in Orsha, equipped with modern equipment, the central district hospital in Miory, modernized district hospitals in Kopyś and Bolbasovo of the Orsha district, the dental department at the Verkhnedvinsk Central District Hospital, the reconstructed obstetrics and gynecology and therapy departments of the Senno Central District Hospital, and others.

In addition, in October last year, the first and only republican department for X-ray endovascular care and complex arrhythmias was opened at the Vitebsk Regional Hospital.

Yuri Derkach noted that the clinic in the Yug-7 microdistrict includes a women's consultation, children's and dental clinics.

A unified information space for healthcare in the region is being formed, an electronic patient card is being introduced, "Electronic Prescription" is functioning in all cities and districts, and a telemedicine consultation system has been created. 

A pilot project for the informatization of healthcare using cloud technologies is being implemented in the Orsha district. All this, the head of the department noted, is being done to improve the quality of medical care and the convenience of the population.

Assessing the work of the main healthcare department, Vitaly Vovk noted that Vitebsk region is capable of becoming the country's medical Mecca, and also set the service the goal of exporting services, effective implementation of the potential of high-tech equipment and rehabilitation and wellness opportunities available in the northern region of Belarus.
