"To School with 'Belaya Rus'': Sports Equipment Presented to Pupils of Vitebsk Kindergarten, Basketball Masterclass Held
As noted by the head of the administration of the Pervomaysky District, Yevgeny Semyonchyev, this year the Republican Public Association "Belaya Rus" is holding its traditional campaign not only for schoolchildren but also for kindergarten pupils who will become first-graders next year.
– We want to instill a love for sports and a healthy lifestyle in children from an early age, so we are donating sports equipment that will help kindergarten pupils excel in football, gymnastics, basketball, and other sports, – said Yevgeny Semyonchyev.
As a token of gratitude, the preschoolers presented a concert program for the guests. The children recited poems, danced, solved riddles, and demonstrated their athletic skills. They also actively asked questions to Ruslan Boyadkov, the 1994 European Youth Champion, the best basketball player in Belarus (1994, 1996, and 1997), and the head coach of the Rubon basketball club. In turn, together with pupils from the Akvilon basketball school and the youth and main teams of Rubon, he conducted a master class for the children on dribbling a basketball and shooting into the hoop.
– We could not stand aside and gladly joined the campaign to popularize sports and physical education. The initiative was supported by experienced players from our team, young stars, and coaches, – said Ruslan Boyadkov. – Sports are for strong and capable boys and girls who wish to achieve results and know what discipline is. To develop it, one needs to attend sports clubs, which is especially relevant after the summer holidays.
By the way, about 100 children are studying at the Vitebsk Basketball School, and one can start training from the age of 4.
