Viktor Orlov, a tractor driver-machinist at PC "Olgovskoye" in the Vitebsk region, at the age of 76, continues to perform at a high level and can outperform younger colleagues in labor productivity.
A native of the Kaliningrad region, at the age of 22, after the death of his parents, he moved to Vitebsk, where his relatives lived. He got married, raised two sons with his wife Galina, and enjoys four grandchildren.
Viktor Mikhailovich dedicated more than half a century to "Olgovsky", working on various types of machinery. He worked for forty seasons on a grain harvester, and in different years, under his father's guidance, his sons Alexander and Evgeny went through the combine operator assistant school.
Viktor Orlov was repeatedly among the leaders of the republican festival-fair "Dazhynki". The year 1999 was memorable, when he threshed about 2 thousand tons of grain on a "Don-1500", which was a record at the time. For first place in the republican competition, the combine operator received a gift from the President – a "Zhiguli" car.
Viktor Mikhailovich retired early on preferential terms at the age of 55, but has not spent a single day in well-deserved rest. Now, on his MTZ-1221 tractor, he mainly cultivates the soil and prepares feed. For example, this year he cultivated over 650 hectares of farmland and transported over 3.3 thousand tons of green mass. Despite his age, he maintains a full work schedule of an agronomist, working from 6 am to late evening during peak periods.
– I will work as long as my health allows, – says the honored veteran.
