The opening of the second treatment building of the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Hospital took place today.
The comprehensive modernization of the specialized multidisciplinary center for the treatment of all infectious diseases, which has been carried out over the past few years, has been completed. The base of the Department of Infectious Diseases of the Vitebsk State Medical University is located here.
The solemn opening was attended by the President's Aide – Inspector for the Vitebsk Region Vladimir Yurgevich, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Alexey Guyda, and other officials.
The guests congratulated the staff on such a significant event and thanked them for enduring all the difficulties associated with the large-scale capital repair.
– Today, the regional infectious disease hospital is the most modern medical institution in the region. But its main value is the team of specialists ready to perform and performing the most complex tasks of providing assistance to people and strengthening the demographic security of the country, – noted Alexey Guyda.

The first major renovation of the building, constructed in 1961, has been completed. It began three years ago in accordance with the President's decree and was included in the State Program "People's Health and Demographic Security for 2021-2025." As a reminder, Building No. 1 has been operational since 2016 after its reconstruction.
In September of last year, a new treatment and diagnostic building was commissioned, inserted between the two existing hospital buildings. All structural units located in it are equipped with the latest equipment. The modern clinical diagnostic laboratory allows for a wide range and volume of tests. It also houses the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) room, which has been operating in two shifts since October of last year. The MRI machine, costing 3.4 million rubles, was supplied by the Ministry of Health as part of centralized procurement.
Additionally, a new transformer substation and a checkpoint with a disinfection barrier for processing ambulances have been built for the hospital.
The final stage of the clinic's renovation was the major repair of Building No. 2. Engineering networks were replaced, the facade was insulated with new windows and doors installed, and landscaping was carried out. Comfortable conditions have been created for patient treatment and doctors' work. The hospital, with 156 beds for adults and children, employs 236 people, including 36 specialist doctors, 87 nurses, and 69 junior medical staff.
The total estimated cost of the work amounted to 56.6 million rubles. Approximately 1.3 million rubles of credit funds from the Development Bank and the regional budget were spent on equipment procurement.
