26.06.2026
"Slavic Festivals: A Path of Friendship and Unity" – this was the title of the international online conference held at the V. Lenin Regional Library. It is symbolic that its opening took place on the Day of Friendship and Unity of Slavs, celebrated on June 25.
This folk holiday, based on the common roots, cultural traditions, and customs of Slavic peoples, is dedicated to the largest historical and linguistic community of peoples – there are about 350 million Slavs in the world.
The meeting was organized within the framework of cooperation between the Vitebsk Regional Library and the V. Kurbatov Pskov Universal Scientific Library. The conference was one of 35 events of the campaign in anticipation of the юбилейный "Slavianski Bazaar". The conference theme was dedicated to the traditions and cultural heritage of major forums, in particular, the International Arts Festival in Vitebsk, the historical and patriotic festival "Slovenskoe Pole" held in the Pskov region, and others.
– In recent years, we have implemented many different projects with our Pskov colleagues. The current one is dedicated to the festival movement. Both countries have extensive experience in holding cultural forums, which we shared. We also presented printed publications from our collections dedicated to "Slavianski Bazaar," including a bibliographic index that we prepared for the юбилейный twentieth festival, – noted Tatyana Adamyan, Director of the V. Lenin Vitebsk Regional Library.
Representatives of the "Slavianski Bazaar" directorate, famous cultural figures, poets, publicists, librarians, and educators took part in the discussion.
