The first meeting of the working group on solving problematic issues of life support, characteristic of the region's settlements, was held in Vitebsk.

Addressing citizens' problems requires a systematic approach, stated the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, at the first meeting of the working group on studying and taking prompt measures to resolve problematic issues of life support, characteristic of settlements in the Vitebsk region.

"We are indeed doing a lot to solve the population's problems, direct lines are operating, and citizens' receptions are held. Many issues are resolved, but, unfortunately, quite a few problems remain unresolved. These are issues of various kinds, some of them have been brewing for years, while others arise suddenly, as this year due to natural phenomena," said the governor.

Nikolai Sherstnev noted that special working groups are currently being created in the country to study problems and take prompt response measures. "The regional working group must mobilize efforts to identify problems from the outset, assess their significance, determine priorities and solutions. I foresee a storm of problematic issues. But we will not bring minor issues here; we are interested in global-scale problems. And in this work, one should not rely solely on complaints and appeals. It happens that a person, out of modesty or for other reasons, cannot reach the authorities. Our task is to objectively assess the situation and solve problems systematically, not on a short-term, ad-hoc basis, reacting to complaints," said the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee.

It is obvious that different districts will have different priority problems. But there are issues that are relevant to everyone. One of them is the quality of trade services in rural areas (poor assortment, high prices, inadequate quality). The governor instructed to analyze the situation in all districts and then consider the issue at a session of the Regional Council of Deputies. Nikolai Sherstnev oriented the participants of the meeting, which was held in a video conference format with the districts, towards effective work.

"We will meet at least once a month to discuss and resolve pressing issues," emphasized the governor. As explained by the Assistant to the President - Chief Inspector for the Vitebsk region

regions Alexander Poznyak, working groups for studying and resolving citizens' problems are being created in all regions of the country by order of the Presidential Administration. In the Vitebsk region, the group is headed by the Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies Vladimir Terentyev. The working group includes representatives of all interested services and departments. Alexander Poznyak emphasized that the region is not limited to creating only a regional group - a decision has been made to create similar structures in all districts. The Presidential Aide noted that the most typical problems for both the region and the republic will be processed and reported to the head of state for the adoption of necessary measures to resolve current issues.
