Lawyers, attorneys, judges, prosecutors, legal advisors, law professors, and investigators of the Vitebsk region gathered in the assembly hall of VSU named after P.M. Masherov on the eve of their professional holiday – Lawyer's Day, which is celebrated on the first Sunday of December.
Addressing the attendees, the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin, emphasized that laws play a huge role in our lives, and the well-being of the country and its citizens depends on the professionalism, integrity, and fairness of justice workers.
– You help to understand, ensure that everything is legal and correct. You approach each person professionally and individually, making fair and principled decisions. I wish you success in everything, that you find a way out of any, even the most difficult situation, – noted the head of the region and presented awards to those who distinguished themselves in their professional activities.
There were many awards; heads of various structures of the region's legal system recognized their leading workers. Certificates were received by judges, employees of the prosecutor's office, teachers of law faculties of universities, lawyers, and notaries. For the presentation of awards, the following took to the stage: the Head of the Investigative Committee Department for the Vitebsk Region, Major General of Justice Alexander Gutska, the Prosecutor of the Vitebsk Region Andrey Skurat, the Chairman of the State Control Committee of the Republic of Belarus for the Vitebsk Region Vladimir Godyatsky, the Head of the Internal Affairs Department of the Regional Executive Committee, Police Colonel Maxim Subbota, the Chairman of the Economic Court of the Region Alexey Borodulin, the Head of the Regional Emergency Situations Department, Colonel of Internal Service Sergey Meleshkin, the Head of the Vitebsk Customs, Advisor of Customs Service of the 1st Rank Sergey Linkevich.
All heads of departments dedicated to the protection of law and justice took part in the celebration.
– Lawyer's Day is celebrated in the last month of the year. Therefore, we sum up the results and honor our best employees. Belarus has created a stable legal system with reasonable balances, meeting the principles of justice and the requirements of a social legal state. Through joint efforts and coordinating our activities, we will build a normal civil society in the country, a legal state that will serve the people, – emphasized the chairman of the regional branch of the Belarusian Republican Union of Lawyers, chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Court Alexander Fedyukevich.
