In the Vitebsk region, the share of workplaces with hazardous working conditions decreased by 5.6%

Speaking about the issue of assessing working conditions at workplaces in the region's organizations, Alexander Khristoforov noted that the target of the subprogram "Labor Protection" of the State Program for Social Protection and Employment Promotion for 2016-2020 to reduce the proportion of jobs with hazardous working conditions was overfulfilled in 2016. "The proportion decreased by 5.6% against an annual target of 1%," emphasized the chairman of the committee. "This is the second place in the republic. This result was achieved by implementing the action plan for the subprogram, optimizing production processes, and creating new jobs that do not have hazardous conditions."

Employees working in hazardous conditions are entitled to compensation in the form of additional payments and extra leave; some categories are entitled to early retirement and a reduced working day. Alexander Khristoforov noted that employers in the region spend over Br19 million annually to provide compensation for work in hazardous conditions. This includes additional payments, expenses for extra leave, payment of insurance contributions to the Social Protection Fund for preferential pensions, etc. "In 2016, more than 29,000 people received preferential early retirement pensions for work in special conditions, and the Social Protection Fund allocated over Br114 million for pension payments to them," stated the chairman of the committee.
