In defense of interests

The legislation of the Republic of Belarus grants the prosecutor the authority to file lawsuits to protect state and public interests. These powers are also exercised by the Vitebsk Transport Prosecutor's Office.

Thus, the appeal of UP "Vitebsk Branch of Belarusian Railways" on compensation for damages from an individual was satisfied. It was established that in April 2020, room No. 410 on the fourth floor of the dormitory building of the Vitebsk Civil Structures Department of UP "Vitebsk Branch of Belarusian Railways" caught fire. The cause of the fire was careless handling of fire by the resident K.

The Vitebsk Transport Prosecutor, in the interests of the Vitebsk Branch, filed a lawsuit to recover damages caused to the enterprise as a result of the fire, as well as the costs of restoring the premises from the guilty person, for a total amount of over 3,000 rubles, which was subsequently satisfied by the court.

Also, in 2020, in the interests of state-owned enterprises, lawsuits were filed with the Vitebsk Regional Economic Court for a total amount of over 9,000 rubles.

When considering enterprises' requests to file claims for the recovery of overdue accounts receivable in their interests, the prosecutor conducts work on pre-trial dispute resolution, which is effective in a number of cases.

In 2020, within the framework of pre-trial dispute resolution, debts totaling over 200,000 rubles were paid off.

Work in this direction will continue.
