Vitebsk Customs: "Flowers of Memory" on the eve of the Department's Anniversary
On the eve of its Education Day and on the eve of a sorrowful date – the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Burned Villages, the leadership of the Vitebsk Customs, together with representatives of the Vitebsk branch of RUE "BelCustomsService", honored the memory of the victims of the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War.
Flowers were laid at the "5th Regiment" memorial complex as a sign of deep respect and eternal memory of the tragic events. This date is a symbol of national sorrow and a reminder of the cruelty of the punitive detachments that turned more than nine thousand villages on Belarusian land into ashes. Many settlements never revived, remaining only names on granite slabs.
The "Flowers of Memory" campaign emphasizes the importance of preserving historical memory and the inadmissibility of repeating such tragedies. For the Vitebsk Customs, this event became not only a tribute to the innocent victims but also a symbol of loyalty to duty, responsibility, and patriotism, which is especially significant on the eve of its own professional holiday.
Eternal memory to thousands of innocent victims.
