Vitebsk Park of the Soviet Army has opened its 80th season

Visitors of all ages found entertainment to their liking: from concerts and games to interactive areas with rescuers.

 

A Family Celebration

From the morning, Vitebsk residents hurried to their favorite park, where everything was ready for the celebration. The jubilee 80th season began with the concert "Sunshine in Hands" with the participation of the best ensembles of the Vitebsk Cultural Center. And what is a celebration without friends! The festive program was joined by: the "Belka" School of Modern Dance, the "Princess of Sport" gymnastics club, the "BARABEND" show group, the G.O.MUSIC cover band, popular DJs, and MCs.

An lively entertainment program with contests and master classes was held at the children's playground, where little ones competed in dexterity and imagination.

Interactive areas of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the OSVOD (Water Rescue Service) attracted particular interest: children put on real uniforms, examined rescue equipment, and curiously tried on the role of rescuers. For many, it was a rare opportunity to get a closer look at professional gear and ask questions to those who ensure the city's safety daily. Interactive zones from the Vitebsk Regional Trade Union Association and the Center for Standardization, Metrology, and Certification were engaging and interesting. Unusual specialized equipment, devices, and machinery that could be seen on Labor Day were of interest to both children and adults.

The mass field, thanks to the center for additional education, became a zone of fun and entertainment.

Food outlets and food courts offered a variety of products to guests and residents of Vitebsk – from street food and drinks to souvenirs and handicrafts.

The celebration for the opening of the jubilee season in "Mazurino" is scheduled until 8:30 PM. The festivities will conclude with a dance party and a spectacular fire show.

Plans for June

The season opening is just the first step. According to Alesya Borodina, methodologist of the branch "Complex of Cultural and Mass Recreation named after the Soviet Army", the traditional historical reconstruction festival "Ploskaya Gora" is planned for the end of June.

– The ideological inspirer and organizer of the festival is the folk historical reconstruction team "Wargenthorn" led by Elena Bibik. This year, "Ploskaya Gora" coincides with our city's birthday and will be held on a particularly grand scale. Clubs from both Belarus and Russia come to participate in master classes, knight competitions, and reconstructions of daily life and crafts, – noted Alesya Borodina and added: – Our park is open all year round for both family recreation and for holding corporate sports and entertainment events. There are recreation areas with barbecues in very beautiful and picturesque places where weddings and graduations are celebrated. At the beginning of September, "Mazurino" will brightly celebrate its 80th anniversary. If anyone is willing to participate and help make the celebration and our native park better, we will be glad!

On regular days, you can also spend time here with benefit and pleasure. The rental operates on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 13:00 to 19:00, and on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 11:00 to 20:00 (ticket office until 19:30). Don't forget your ID.

In addition, today the enterprise "Gordormost" has opened river navigation: from 11:30 to 20:00 you can take a boat trip from the pier on the bank of the KKMO named after the Soviet Army to Pobedy Square. The cost of the boat trip is 16 rubles per person.

The anniversary season opened vividly: its own, native "Mazurino" is blooming and transforming.
