A family from Polotsk district will represent Vitebsk region in the final of the "Lord of the Village" project

The Potapov family from Polotsk district will represent Vitebsk region in the final of the "Lord of the Village" family agricultural project. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the Vitebsk Regional Committee of the NGO "BRSM".
The regional stage of the republican family agricultural project was held in the urban settlement of Podsvilye in Gluboksky district. Notably, it was in this district in 2007 that "Lord of the Village" was first held, and a year later it became established in all regions of the country, and in 2009 it was upgraded to a republican family agricultural project.
The most talented, hardworking, and friendly families of the Vitebsk region, winners of district qualifying rounds, took part in this year's competition. They showcased their best qualities in the challenges of the regional stage. They demonstrated a loaf of bread of their own baking and its recipe. The women created amazing compositions from fresh flowers and herbs. The most spectacular challenge was "On the Grass," where spouses competed in the skillful use of a scythe. The jury was captivated by the aromatic battle "Draniki on the Stump." Families fried treats in the open air. The regional stage concluded with the presentation of family homesteads, where visitors could learn about their unique rituals and traditions, carefully passed down from generation to generation.
Maria and Vladimir Potapov believe that family is the most important thing, as it is where a person's personality is formed. The story of this family began on June 12, 2021. They got married at the registry office of the Novopolotsk City Executive Committee. Vladimir works as a repairman for heating networks, and Maria is an event organizer. They are raising two children - 11-year-old Yana and 4-year-old Pavel. Yana is an artistic girl, she sings, dances, and participates in various competitions. Pasha goes to kindergarten and loves fishing. "For me, support is my close-knit family," said Maria.
The winner of the regional competition will represent the Vitebsk region in the final of the project, which will be held as part of the republican festival "Kupalye" ("Alexandria Gathers Friends").
Zhanna Naritsyna, First Secretary of the Vitebsk Regional Committee of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union, noted that every year during the "Master of the Village" project, she is amazed by the sincerity that reigns here. "When I see how fathers teach their children to swing a scythe correctly, how mothers worry about their loaf of bread, and how grandmothers quietly advise their granddaughters on how to weave a Kupala wreath stronger, I understand: this is the real Belarus. Not painted, not ceremonial, but alive, breathing, hardworking. Our regional stage in Podsvilye is not even a competition. It is a celebration of unity. Unity of generations, unity of family and homeland. We are proud that 18 years ago this project was launched precisely on the Vitebsk land. And today our task is not just to hold a competition, but to show every young family that they are needed here, that their work is important. Their desire to live and work in the village is the future of our country," said Zhanna Naritsyna.
The organizers of the regional stage of the project were the Vitebsk Regional Committee of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union, the Main Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, the Committee for Agriculture and Food of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, the Glubokoe District Executive Committee, and the Glubokoe District Committee of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union.
