Vladimir Terentyev aims to hold the most important political event - the parliamentary elections - at a high organizational level

The election campaign in the Vitebsk region is proceeding in strict accordance with the law. At the same time, it is necessary to take comprehensive measures and consider all the smallest details to ensure that this most important political event as a whole takes place at a high organizational level, and to provide conditions for the full realization of the constitutional rights and freedoms of all participants in the electoral process.


These tasks were set for the executive authorities, various organizations and departments by the Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies, Vladimir Terentyev, during a meeting of the headquarters to assist district election commissions, held on August 22.

– The election campaign is always a serious test for the authorities, so we have no temptation to apply simplified approaches to its organization, and there are no overconfident sentiments, – Vladimir Vladimirovich mobilized the participants of the event. The regional leadership realistically assesses the socio-political situation in the region – it is generally calm and manageable, there are no potential sources of conflict and tension. So, the elections should be held in an organized manner, and each subject of the electoral process is capable of performing the task at a high level in accordance with its competence, the speaker of the regional council is confident.

Today, the agitation stage of the election campaign is in full swing, conducted by 65 registered candidates for deputies. They represent a wide range of socio-political forces in the region and actively use the opportunities provided by law to compete for the sympathy of voters. Election organizers are required to resolve all current issues correctly and respectfully, but to make decisions in strict accordance with the law.

In one of her recent video addresses, the Chairperson of the Central Election Commission, Lidia Yermoshina, bestowed upon the Vitebsk region the unofficial title of a stronghold of democracy in the country. And the next electoral campaign should confirm this, Vladimir Terentyev is confident. To this end, in particular, it is necessary to continue to enhance explanatory work among citizens, to saturate

public spaces of settlements with visual agitation aimed at increasing voters' awareness of the election date, candidates for deputies, while ensuring the latter equal and uniform conditions for conducting propaganda work.

In addition, during the headquarters meeting, approaches were developed to solve organizational issues for creating conditions for the effective activities of precinct election commissions, including their interaction with law enforcement agencies and the Ministry of Emergency Situations units to ensure security at polling stations. A total of about 2 thousand МВД employees will be involved in maintaining public order during the election campaign.
