A criminal case has been initiated against an official of the Vitebsk Medical University for bribery

23.05.2016 The Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office authorized the detention of an official of the educational institution "Vitebsk State Order of Friendship of Peoples Medical University", who is accused of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 430 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, namely, that in May 2016, while in the administrative building of the said educational institution, he received a bribe in the amount of 200 US dollars from a student for favorable resolution of the issue of passing tests and exams.

For committing this crime, the sanction of the specified article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to seven years with confiscation of property and deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities.
