A court verdict has entered into force against a resident of the Shumilino district, found guilty of illegal hunting that caused damage on a large scale.

In January of the current year, a resident of a small village in the Shumilino district was convicted of illegal hunting with a suspended sentence. However, after the court's verdict was issued, and before it entered into legal force, he decided to engage in criminal activity again. Having made snares from improvised materials, the man set them up not far from his home.

Soon, a forester from the forestry enterprise, while patrolling the forest lands, noticed the snares and the remains of a roe deer caught in them. Based on the results of the conducted examinations, biological material of the convicted person was found on the snares, thus confirming his involvement in the committed crime.

Based on the evidence presented by the prosecution, the court found the man guilty of hunting without proper authorization, during a prohibited period, using prohibited tools and methods, which caused damage on a large scale, and sentenced him to a final punishment of 2 years and 6 months of imprisonment in a general regime correctional colony, with the deprivation of the right to engage in hunting-related activities for a period of 5 years, and a fine of 2900 rubles.

In addition, the damage caused to the environment and the cost of the roe deer, totaling 3,683 rubles, were recovered from the convicted person for the benefit of the state.
