Interaction with regional media

For many years, the prosecutor's offices of the Vitebsk region have been carrying out significant work to publicize the results of their activities, as well as to provide legal education to the population through oral presentations and appearances in the media. Thus, we contribute to the implementation of important goals, in particular, the prevention of unlawful manifestations, fostering public respect for the law, and strengthening the authority of the prosecutor's office among the population.

In the past period, organizational events of the regional prosecutor's office (collegium meetings, outreach receptions for citizens, training and methodological seminars, etc.), the results of prosecutorial inspections in various spheres of life, and the outcomes of activities aimed at preventing and deterring crimes and other offenses among youth were covered through regional and national media. In addition, significant attention was paid to issues of combating corruption in the region.

The results of the investigation and judicial review of criminal cases against life and health, public order, property, and others were also covered. In addition, the population of the region was informed, including through the "Prosecutor Informs" campaigns, about legislative innovations and their practical implementation.

Prosecutorial staff of city and district prosecutor's offices posted relevant information on the official websites of city and district executive committees (sections "Prosecutor's Office," "Prosecutor's Office News"), educational institutions of the region, and websites of district and national print periodicals.

It should be noted that the Prosecutor of the Vitebsk region pays close attention to the implementation of the principle of publicity in the activities of the prosecutor's offices of the Vitebsk region.

The head of the region's supervisory authority, through his personal example of active interaction with the press, shows subordinate employees on the ground how to conduct a constructive dialogue with media representatives.

After all, the media provide residents of our region with relevant, in-demand information,

raise serious questions, and, perhaps most importantly, they shape public opinion. Largely thanks to the media, society has the opportunity to maintain a constant, open, mutually respectful dialogue with the authorities.

The importance of journalistic work in the modern world is difficult to overestimate.

The profession of a journalist has always enjoyed great respect among the population and was associated with special responsibility, because the main task is to convey the truth to everyone. Objectivity, promptness, impartiality of assessments, and principled position remain the main criteria for journalistic work in the northern region.

Today, modern technologies and new forms of communication make information delivery faster, more emotional, and therefore more effective. And this only raises the level of requirements for the work of journalists and editors, for the fairness of judgments, sincerity, and honesty of information materials.
