– Vitebsk CHPP is a crucial facility for the city in terms of ensuring the life support of our population. We specifically chose the period before the heating season so that all services could test their skills in eliminating emergencies during the winter period, – noted Vitaly Volzhenkov, head of the Vitebsk City Department for Emergency Situations. – The main goal of the exercises is to practice interaction with all structures so that in the event of an emergency, we are allowed to work in a timely manner, and we can quickly reach the source of the simulated explosion. After all, the more promptly we can do this, the faster assistance will be provided to people, and the personnel will be able to start eliminating the consequences of the emergency and restoring energy and heat supply.
A total of 19 units of emergency rescue equipment from the Vitebsk City Department for Emergency Situations, as well as 76 personnel, were involved in the exercise.
– The current exercises are distinguished by the number of equipment and personnel involved, as each rescuer must practice skills in eliminating emergency situations at this facility, – emphasized Yuri Makarchuk, Senior Assistant to the Head of the Operational Management Center of the Vitebsk City Department for Emergency Situations. – There were no major difficulties in the exercise; these are ordinary everyday situations that can be encountered. We must always be ready to come to the aid of people and cope with the task in the shortest possible time.
