In 2015, 12 people were injured by rolling stock at the Vitebsk branch of the Belarusian Railway

The analysis of railway safety in the Vitebsk transport region conducted by the Vitebsk Transport Prosecutor's Office shows that the main cause of injury and death of citizens on railway tracks is the violation of rules of conduct on railways.

In 2015, 12 people were injured by rolling stock on the Vitebsk branch of Belarusian Railway, which is 2 less than in the same period of 2014. At the same time, the number of people who received fatal injuries remained at the same level (9).

For 12 months of 2015, no cases of injury to minors were recorded. Whereas in 2014, 1 case of injury to a minor was registered.

For example, while moving along the railway tracks of Polotsk station, minor I. received injuries. She was in a high-risk area and was also wearing headphones.

Since June 30, 2015, new rules for the presence of citizens and the placement of objects in high-risk areas, the performance of work in these areas, and passage and crossing of railway tracks have been in effect. In accordance with these rules, it is not recommended to use mobile phones and headphones when crossing railway tracks.

The personal safety of citizens on railway tracks is ensured not only by discipline but also by strict adherence to the aforementioned rules.
