Regional Executive Committee meeting: private business generated a quarter of the Vitebsk region's budget revenues in the first half of the year
As of July 1, there were 30.8 thousand small and medium-sized enterprises in the region, including 8.6 thousand legal entities and almost 22.2 thousand individual entrepreneurs. A high density of small and medium-sized businesses is observed in Vitebsk, Polotsk, Glubokskoye, and Lepel districts, as well as in Vitebsk and Novopolotsk.
"In the Vitebsk region, Br191.6 million was received from business entities in six months, which accounted for 24.6% of the total revenue to the consolidated budget. In Tolochin, Shumilin, and Postavy districts, business contributes more than half to the budget. More than 143 thousand residents of the region work in private organizations, which is about a third of the total employed population," Alexander Kostyukov clarified.
This year, it is planned to spend Br1.8 million on the development of entrepreneurship support infrastructure. Informational work with entrepreneurs or those wishing to start a business remains important so that they are aware of the provisions of legal acts and the existing conditions for doing business. The region has three business incubators and eight entrepreneurship support centers. There are councils for entrepreneurship development under the regional executive committee and in the regions, the purpose of which is to form discussion platforms for resolving business issues at the local level, Alexander Kostyukov said.
