Housing and communal services in the region on the upcoming snowfall: all equipment is in working order and ready to go on the line
Svetlana Lyatyaga, Head of the Public Utilities Department of the Main Department of Housing and Communal Services of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, informed "VV" about this.
On the night of January 27, more than 380 people were working, and 190 units of equipment were deployed, she explained. Additionally, if necessary, forces from enterprises and organizations are involved in combating snowdrifts.
– In total, housing and communal services enterprises have 537 units of equipment for the winter maintenance of populated areas. Of these, 95 are sand and salt spreaders, 201 units are snow removal equipment, 104 are loaders, and 127 are dump trucks and tractors for snow removal. According to the plan, 28.2 thousand tons of sand and salt mixture have been prepared. All equipment is in working condition daily. The number of deployed equipment and personnel depends on the amount of snowfall, – she noted.
As emphasized by the department, the readiness of utility services this year has already been tested by the previous cyclone "Francis-Ulli," which hit the region and the country in early January.
