Lukashenko visits OAO Agrokombinat Yubileiny in Orsha District

12.08.2024  Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko continued his working trip to the east of the country on 11 August. The head of state visited OAO Agrokombinat Yubileiny in Orsha District, Vitebsk Oblast, BelTA has learned.

The president took a look at the situation in the company, considered its development prospects and saw whether all the instructions given during previous visits had been fulfilled. The discussions included the structure of the agricultural company, social welfare sector and housing matters. The central farm of Yubileiny is the agrotown of Babinichi, which boasts a well-developed infrastructure, including a good school, a kindergarten, and sports facilities.

“This is the main purpose we have set up agrotowns for,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said. He emphasized the need for necessary repairs on roads leading to agrotowns in order to ensure logistics.

"If there are gas supply networks, all amenities, gorgeous nature, why not come [to work on the farm]?” the head of state noted.
“The nature is gorgeous. There is also a kindergarten, a good school, sports facilities here,” Aleksandr Firsin, director of OAO Agrokombinat Yubileiny, said.

The head of state has visited this agricultural company before. In June 2022, Aleksandr Lukashenko got familiar with the Kupalinka dairy complex and visited the machinery yard. Back then, the issues discussed comprised some practical matters, including the arrangement of the site covering, search for an optimal solution for heating the workshops in winter. The construction of technological complexes at the Pavlinka dairy complex was discussed in July 2023.
This time Aleksandr Lukashenko, first of all, visited the central machine yard. Safety and proper maintenance of machinery is one of the top priorities in the agricultural sector.

Aleksandr Firsin, director of OAO Agrokombinat Yubileiny, reported to the president that they connected the machine yard to the gas supply network, installed infrared radiators, and built showers. In other words, comfortable conditions have been created for people who work there.

"The place looks very good," the president praised the results.

A similar approach was used to spruce up another, smaller machine yard on the farm. The issue was approached from the point of view of efficiency and reasonable economy.

Aleksandr Lukashenko was also reported on the progress in the harvesting campaign. The farm has already cropped 55% of the areas and looks to have a good harvest of grain and fodder.

The previous two days that the president has spent in Shklov District were also dedicated to agricultural issues. First, the meeting in Shklov discussed ways of effective development of agricultural sector on the example of two GDP-forming districts: Shklov District and Orsha District. The following day, the head of state convened another meeting in the agro-town of Gorodishche in Shklov District to scrutinize the feasibility of a project to set up a large integration structure with the participation of Kupalovskoye agricultural holding company. The project was given a green light. But the main things that Aleksandr Lukashenko demand are efficient work, putting the existing facilities and territories in proper order, maintaining executive and technological discipline.
