Plans to build multibrand machine-building factory in Vitebsk

10.11.2023   A multibrand factory to manufacture hydraulic mechanisms, tarpaulin trucks, and load-lifting cranes is supposed to be built in Vitebsk within the next two years, learned from Director of ChUP Vitstroytechmash Andrei Sidorov as delegations from nearly 20 countries visited Vitebsk as part of Trade Counselor's Day.

The new manufacturing facilities may be located in the free economic zone Vitebsk. According to Andrei Sidorov, the multibrand factory will allow realizing several projects. The first one is a hydraulics plant with a complete manufacturing cycle. It has no analogs in Belarus or Russia. The second project will focus on tarpaulin trucks. The third factory will allow Vitstroytechmash to increase the output of all kinds of cranes, including cranes used as part of container shipping. Such cranes will come in handy since Belarus is busy developing container shipping. About 300 jobs will be created as part of the project, which is supposed to get off the ground within the next two years, the CEO said.

Guests from Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Pakistan, Venezuela, Ghana, Iran, Indonesia, and other countries went on a tour of the company's manufacturing and assembly shops. They were made familiar with the existing product lineup and learned about new projects. The company has recently started making drilling rigs based on MTZ tractors as well as power grid maintenance trucks. The latter are made in association with Russian partners. Twelve trucks of Vitstroytechmash design have already been made and will be shipped to Moscow soon. The company also intends to make new models of truck-mounted hydraulic lifts, including economy class ones, which are being manufactured according to an anticrisis program.

Vitstroytechmash products are shipped to virtually all the republics of the former Soviet Union. The company is busy penetrating the markets of Asia and Africa. The Vitebsk-based company works according to an import substitution program and can offer machines and vehicles that will be in demand in oriental countries.

After the tour of the enterprise Charge d'Affaires of Uzbekistan to Belarus Rakhmatulla Nazarov noted that his country has a strong interest in truck-mounted hydraulic lifts. “Today we have a unique opportunity for talking to the company's management and we will talk about specific projects. We are interested in continuing the advancement of cooperation between our countries. Our trade reached half a billion last year. It was the first time we had secured this result in the history of bilateral relations. We have no intention of stopping at that. Our governments want to raise this figure to $1 billion. We have all the opportunities for it,” the diplomat noted.

Rakhmatulla Nazarov also added that Vitebsk Oblast has well-developed agriculture and manufacturing sector and Uzbekistan is particularly interested in cooperation in these spheres. “Belarus is actually the main supplier of meat products to our country. We received about 80% of these products from your enterprises in 2021. Dairy products from Belarus are becoming more and more popular. We have something to work on together. The perspectives are good,” he opined.
