Vitebsk is hosting the 61st session of the Interbank Currency Council of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus and the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, BelTA has learned.

Today Belarus celebrates Victory Day, a holiday gained in the hard battles for freedom and independence of the Motherland. For Belarusians it is not only a holiday, but also a day of remembrance, deep respect and gratitude to all those who brought the Great Victory closer.

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko approved the appointment of Sergei Levkovich Vitebsk Oblast First Vice Governor on 25 April.

The small stone Roman Catholic Church of St. Barbara was built in Vitebsk in 1785. The red towers of the Baroque specimen on Leningradskaya Street can be seen from afar when entering the city.
