Organizers: Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk is all about creativity and mutual respect

The 30th anniversary of the International Festival of Arts Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk will be celebrated in a friendly atmosphere. “Actions of some social networks users should not sour the meeting between sincere fans and artists. The festive atmosphere of the Slavianski Bazaar has always been about creativity and mutual respect. We invite everybody to Vitebsk in July to see this for themselves,” the directorate noted.

The festival's directorate posted this message in response to numerous requests for artists from the festival's lineup to cancel their participation in the event. “Last week, we unveiled part of the lineup of artists that are invited to take part in the anniversary festival. However, what followed was a flood of such messages to these artists, which creates tension and distracts from the preparations. Emotional pressure makes artists change their decision. We believe that neither viewers not artists should feel offended, because everyone's choice sould be respected,” the organizers stressed.

Throughout its history, the Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk has remained true to its motto “Through Art to Peace and Understanding”, the directorate noted. “For three decades, the program included various genres and cultures, uniting countries and nations. Artists and fans with different tastes come to Vitebsk to celebrate together. The preparations for the festival are a long process. It takes a lot of time to negotiate, harmonize, and approve the program and bring together our favorite artists and groups in Vitebsk,” the post reads.
