LIOZNO, 16 February (BelTA) – The Year of Enterprise will open vast opportunities for businessmen in Vitebsk Oblast, Vitebsk Oblast Governor Alexander Kosinets told BelTA on 16 February. In his view, Belarus’ efforts to promote private initiative and adoption of Directive No 4 will increase the number of people involved in SMEs in Vitebsk Oblast from 110,000 to 200,000 in 2015. The share of entrepreneurs in the gross regional output will rise from 7.8% to 15%. The oblast will make every effort to create an environment conducive to entrepreneurship. “Each constructive business proposal will be heard and supported,” Alexander Kosinets assured. Businessmen will be able to take part as equals in the implementation of 25 major investment programs of the regional development, they will be given an opportunity to show initiative in a variety of areas: from manufacturing to the development of tourist infrastructure. About one hundred new enterprises and facilities set up with the help of small business are to open in Vitebsk Oblast in 2011 alone. Great prospects open up for private initiative in Vitebsk. Here, entrepreneurs are welcome to participate in the development of the services and public catering sectors. The authorities, in turn, will give full support to startup companies. For them, a business center with a business incubator will be constructed in the next two years. The Vitebsk State Technological University is ready to provide methodological assistance in starting up a business. However, the Year of Enterprise requires new approaches from all economic entities, said Alexander Kosinets. Design offices of enterprises are expected to come up with unconventional ideas. The region will continue to hold exhibitions of the best developments of scientists and engineers. “The Year of Enterprise will promote business initiative, improve the wellbeing of people and the economy as a whole,” Alexander Kosinets is sure.
